Hello! I’m Maggie

I’m a writer, editor, and web designer living in New York.

I most recently worked for Technovation, a technology education nonprofit that supports girls around the world to explore their creativity and leadership through hands-on experience building technology. I get to help tell the story of what we do and why it matters. I also managed our websites, which fueled my interest in web design.

I am also available for freelance copy editing projects. I offer a range of editorial approaches, from correcting grammar and awkward phrasing to offering more substantial feedback on the structure or argument of a piece. Send me an email if you want to know more!

Thanks for stopping by. Email is the best way to get in touch!

My Work

Writing & Editing

I’m a writer and editor at heart, by schooling, and by trade—I just really love words. With 12+ years of marketing and communications experience, I write across platforms and for diverse audiences. From blog posts to white papers and from landing pages to social media captions, I’ve written it all, and deeply enjoy the process of tailoring content for people it’s for and the place(s) it will live.

I also offer freelance editing support on longer-form projects like books, white papers, and reports. Helping other writers shape and polish their work is a deeply satisfying puzzle.

Web Design & Management

I love working with websites and managed the end-to-end web production for a global nonprofit’s two primary sites for more than a decade, which led to a growing interest in web design. These projects became some of my favorite work, and I’m actively pursuing new web design or web production and management projects.

I have deep experience with WordPress and SquareSpace, as well as tools like Moz, Google Analytics, and Google Search Console. At the moment I am learning more about webflow and framer and refreshing my html, css, and javascript with some personal projects .

My Fun

Coding & Web Projects

In 2024, after several years of managing our organization’s websites, I took a class in HTML, CSS, and Javascript so that I could support more complicated updates and fixes. I was surprised by how fun coding was and greatly enjoyed building my own projects for class.

Calligraphy & Hand Lettering

I really love paper arts and  hand lettering and could happily spend entire days just drawing letters. In the fantasy version of my life I do just that! I took my first calligraphy classes in 2015 and 2016, and in 2026 I’m making joyful artistic practice a priority!
