I love editing. I love smoothing out rough edges of a piece. I love making sure that the style and voice of a piece stay consistent from the first page to the last page. I love finding the exact spot that a bumpy phrase or incomplete thought is messing up a sentence or paragraph and tweaking it just a little so it flows the way the author intended.

As a copy editor, I edit with an eye for detail, which means reviewing a complete manuscript for grammar, spelling, and consistency — but I also look at the work as a whole and can provide feedback on structure and flow within the piece.

Every project is unique! I like to have an introductory call with clients to discuss the editorial services you’re looking for (what level of review are you looking for? Do you want feedback on the structure of your piece? Phrasing? Or are you only looking for spelling and grammar edits? I do both!), your timeline, and the nature of your work.

I’ll also ask for a copy of your work (or a sample) to review to provide an accurate quote.

Rates are affected by the length of the work, technicality of subject matter, and timeline.
